It was indeed a great day for the two regents, Bro. Kalaka Madhu and Bro. Saggurthi Lokesh Babu as they received the clerical dress on 4th of October at St. Ambrose Minor Seminary, Nuzvid. In view of this event, the regents made a five-day retreat to prepare themselves spiritually. Most Rev. Joseph Raja Rao SMM, Bishop of Vijayawada, officiated the Holy Eucharist at 11.00 a.m. During his homily the bishop highlighted the need of holiness in the life of the elected. He explained the significance of cassock saying that the white clerical garment is a sign of purity within us and our commitment to Christ, to become one like him and become witnesses of God’s wonderful deeds for humanity.
During the holy mass, bishop blessed the cassocks and presented them to the regents in the presence of their parents and family members. After the holy mass, the regents, overwhelmed with great joy, have expressed their gratitude to God for having called them to be His disciples. They thanked the staff and the seminarians of St. Ambrose for making arrangements for the auspicious event in their life. In a special way they felicitated the Bishop and Fr. Joseph Thambi, CPPS, preacher of the retreat. It was concluded with an agape meal in the noon. We congratulate Bros. Madhu and Lokesh on their Vestition. May the Lord bless them to become fitting priests and serve the diocese in the future.
