Xavier Hostel, Andhra Loyola College, kicked off the celebrations of the Golden Jubilee on December 2, 2018 with a ballet on St. Francis Xavier, the patron of Xavier Hostel at 6.00 p.m.Kaladarshini, a cultural organization run by the Jesuits, performed the ballet. The ballet had brought out the missionary zeal of St. Francis Xavier with its music and dance.
The title of the ballet was “Aluperugani Preshithudu.” Around
500 students watched the ballet along with sisters and brothers from the diocese of Vijayawada.

Xavier Hostel, Fr. G.A.P. Kishore SJ, Principal, Andhra Loyola College, the
former directors of the hostel, were concelebrants along with other members of the Jesuit community of Andhra Loyola. Fr. Lourduraj SJ welcomed the Bishop and gathering on behalf of the hostel inmates and the Jesuits of Andhra Loyola. Bishop Joseph Raja Rao highlighted
the travels of St. Francis Xavier and also the spirituality of the first companions of St. Ignatius of Loyola. After the Eucharist, His Excellency Joseph Raja Rao blessed and inaugurated the renovated dining hall. Fr.
PasalaBalashowry SJ, Rector, thanked the Bishop and all those who attended the festival Eucharist and blessed the gathering.
On December 3, 2018 around 5.30p.m., the KoyaTribals of LITDS (Katukapalli, Khammam District) welcomed Most Rev.Polimera Jaya Rao, Bishop of Eluru diocese, the Chief Guest of the day, with traditional dance. Mr. G. Amarnath, former Commissioner of Vijayawada was the guest of honour. Fr. Balashowry SJ, Rector, welcomed the gathering and said that the hostel began for Catholic and Christian boys and promised that
the founder’s vision will be kept for the coming year. Fr. Lourduraj SJ, in his
report of the hostel, traced the history of the hostel and highlighted the new
administrative changes that were brought in this academic year through
animators (Catholic boys) and later he read out achievements in the past 6
months. Fr. Lourduraj credited Fr. Rector for his vision and generosity towards Xavier Hostel. The students of Xavier hostel contributed towards the celebrations of the golden jubilee.
Speaker after speaker spoke on their experiences of Xavier Hostel and how they have come up well and are recognized by the world outside though they come from a very humble background. Mr. Ramulu, an alumnus and a district judge, shared his experiences and gave tips to students to work hard to come up in life. Most Rev.Polimera Jaya Rao, the Chief Guest, motivated the students of the hostel focusing on what the students should do in future. The students egged him on to speak with claps and appreciation. Prizes were distributed at the end for the students who have won under different categories. Fr. C.J.John SJ, and Fr. Kunduru Joji SJ honoured the students. Fr. Lourduraj SJ proposed the vote of thanks at the end. The programme came to an end with National Anthem.
