1. ARUNODHAYA WOMENS WELFARE CENTRE (2005)

The centre was started on 3rd Feb 2005 with the initiative of Sr. Flaviana Perumannikalayil. The aim of this centre is to train girls and women in various skills, awareness program and value education. It reminds us of the original charism of our founder who wanted to raise the dignity of women by educating them for life and family. This centre offers the great opportunity of five months residential training skills in tailoring, embroidery, computer course, spoken English and adult literacy, food and nutrition, first aid, pre-marital course, for the girls who passed class 10th and also for those girls who discontinued intermediate or degree. Preference is given to the catholic girls form the remote villages of Vijayawada Diocese. In every batch 30 girls are given training. Now the 8th batch is undergoing the training. Sr. Kumary Kanaparthi and Sr. Agnes Kalathoti were the in charges up to 2008. At present Sr. Pushpamma is the in charge.

2. ASHA KENDRAM, KANKIPADU (2009)

Asha Kendram is an Extension Service of Arogyamatha Hospital, Kankipadu. It was started on 21st September, 2009. Its main aim is to shed light on those living in the darker areas of life through counseling and guidance. It is a centre started for all categories of people namely, parents, youth, children and so on. It includes Family counseling, School Counseling, Hospital Counseling, Counseling for nursing students, Hostel students and so on.

Asha Nilayam (Abode of Hope) was started on 1-7-1977. It was a Vocational Centre to train proof girls and school dropouts to earn their livelihood.

6. HOLY FAMILY TAILORING CENTRE, RAMANAKKAPETA

We saw the need to give some kind of training for income generating activities and help these women to earn their living and thus take care of their own families and realize their dignity as women. More than 120 women have been benefited from this tailoring Centre. This year 22 women are learning.

7. HOLY FAMILY UPLIFTMENT OF WOMEN’S PROGRAM, RAMANAKKAPETA (2003)

In 2003, along with our evangelization work we took one step forward to uplift the women irrespective of caste and religion. In collaboration with the SSC of the diocese of Vijayawada we started the programme for women. With much effort we formed 15 women groups with 10-15 members. Though we are not conducting meetings for the women group, we have close conduct with them while we go for village visit; we look forward to restart the ministry.

8. IMELDA YOUTH CENTRE (1979)

Imelda Youth center was started on 23rd March 1979 to give accommodation for the young girl students as well as the working women with minimum payments, that they are protected from the exploitation of the society. The girls those who are in problems are guided and helped through various means such as counseling, seminars etc.

9. J.M.J. COMMUNITY COLLEGE, H. JUNCTION (2003)

Due to poor Economic condition of the family many girls were remaining as drop outs of the school. To help these girls to be self- reliant the community college was shifted from Nallapadu to Human Junction in June 2003. Here they train the girls in Lab Technology, Embroidery, Tailoring, Computers, Home nursing, Nursery training and Spoken English. At present 30 students are getting trained with the staff five. There is hostel facility for these girls.

10. MARIA NIVAS TECHNICAL TRAINING CENTRE, SILUVAGIRINAGAR (1988)

The ground floor of Maria Nivas Welfare Centre was inaugurated on 13th November 1989. The Grihini Course (Multi-Skills Training) was started inaugurated on 24th June 1990, a brainchild of the Central Government, to empower young dropout girls especially of the villages. The plight of the girls who were married off at the age of 12 and 13 moved us and we introduced this residential Course in our Institute. Now we have equipped our Centre with Tailoring, Hand Embroidery, Hand Craft, Zari Work, Fabric Painting and Spoken English Course.

11. MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS TAILORING CENTRE, KRISHNALANKA, (1982)

Missionaries of Charity Sisters started their tailoring centre for the girls without patents and those girls who are very poor by Sr. Ruby in the year 1982. Every day evening hours, one teacher will come from outside to teach these girls. After stipulated period they even provide stitching machine as a gift to these students.

15. RESIDENTIAL BRIDGE COURSE, RAMANAKKAPETA (2006)

The government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a serious and profitable step to educate and give all round formation for the school dropouts. They call this project Residential Bridge Course. They run many such centers in this district. We the Holy Family Sisters came it know about this project and we volunteered to approach the government, so that our priority of uplifting the poor girl children becomes a reality for our community. This great work was started on 01st Sep 2006. This year, we have 30 children in the RBC.

16. ST. ALOYSIUS TAILORING SCHOOL GUNADALA, VIJAYAWADA (1976)

It was started in 1976 by Sr. Damiana Elamthurthil and Sr. Annie E. It is for women and preference is given to the poor and uneducated in order to help them improve their economic standards. The training includes cutting and stitching, embroidery, knitting etc., It also includes awareness programmes, family life, social education and moral values. It conducts Balavadies in the villages and provides financial assistance to the poor children’s education and family.

17. ST. ANN’S TAILORING CENTRE, JAGGAYYAPETA (1988)

Tailoring center was initiated in the year 1988. Many school dropout and the young girls who are not able to go for higher studies find means of earning through learning tailoring. After the completion of the 6 months course we give the students sewing machines at a subsidized rate. At present we have 15 students.

18. ST. ANN’S WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, JAGGAYYAPETA (2003)

Women’s Development Program was initiated in Jaggayyapeta in July 2003. From then on there are various programs have been taken up in order to empower the women along with the self help groups. Today we have 80 groups in 4 villages with about 800 women.
Main Activities: Monthly group meetings, Savings, Loans for income generating activities, Helping the orphan and semi-orphan children for their education, helping destitute and elderly, Meetings for widows, Kitchen garden, tree plantation, van Mahotsavam, Adult education, Jaladanam, Solidarity program, Leaders’ training program, Sanitation and Drinking water plant

19. ST. JOEPH’S TECHNICAL INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN, WOODPETA

St. Joseph’s Technical School was started on 8th December 1993 and was blessed by Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Thumma. Aim of this center is to help the school dropout young girls and unemployed women started the tailoring, embroiling and hand work to help themselves to stand on their own feet. 2. ST. ANN’S SCHOOL OF NURSING, VIJAYAWADA (1944)

St. Ann’s School of Nursing had its beginning as a Telugu medium lower grade Midwifery training in 1944, just 4 years after the starting of the hospital. The same course was started in English Medium in 1947. In 1948 advanced grade Midwifery was started. The next and most important development was the starting of General nursing in the year 1954.
