Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Bharathamithram at Gunadala, Vijayawada

The first celebration of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Bharathamithram for the Coastal dioceses of Eluru, Guntur, Nellore, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam were celebrated on 10 November, 2018 in ITI Conference Hall, Gunadala, Vijayawada with magnificence. Most Rev.

Bishop of Vijayawada, Most Rev. Polimera Jaya Rao,Vice-Chairman of Bharathamithram and Bishop of Eluru, Most Rev. M. Doraboina Prakasham, Bishop of Nellore, Most Rev. Chinnabathini Bhagaiah, Bishop of Guntur, Most Rev. Gali Bali, Bishop Emeritus of Guntur, Rev. Fr. Pudhota
Jojaiah SJ, Mr. Kolukunuri Inoc were the distinguished guests. The provincial superiors of various religious congregations, the priests, the superiors and the religious sisters of different communities of the coastal
dioceses, the writers and readers of Bharathamithram were part of the celebrations. The celebration began at 9.00 a.m. at the foot of the Gunadalamatha Hill with the welcome words by Rev. Fr. Chatla Kaspar,
the Editor and Secretary of Bharathamithram. Bishop Polimera Jaya
Rao, the Vice-Chairman of Bharathamithram released the LOGO of
Platinum Jubilee celebration. It was followed by the opening prayer by Bishop Ch. Bhagaiah while Bishop Raja Rao, the Chairman garlanded the statue of Our Lady. The procession was led by the Bishops and priests to the ITI Conference Hall where the celebration was held. The former editor of Bharathamithram Rev. Fr. Surepalli Isaac elegantly anchored the
whole programme. It was an appropriate time to bring into memory the pioneers and promoters of Bharathamithram during the past 75 years. Bharathamithram was started by late Bishop Mummadi Ignatius of Guntur in 1943. The Audio  Visual of the itinerary of Bharathamithram was played and the same CD was distributed to all present there. Bishop Gali Bali, Rev Fr .P. Jojaiah and Mr. K. Inoc were the main speakers of the day. While placing on record the valiant journey of the regional Telugu Catholic magazine through the years in spite of many hurdles during the period,
they offered valuable suggestions for the promotion of the renowned magazine. In the afternoon, all the writers who participated in the competitions organized by Bharathamithram were given away prizes
and mementos. The Solemn Eucharist was celebrated by the Bishops of coastal dioceses.

Rev. Fr. Chatla Kaspar thanked the Chairman for his encouragement in making the celebration a grand one. He thanked all the Bishops, the Provincials, the priests, the superiors, the sisters, catechists, the poets, the authors and the readers of the magazine for their cooperation in promoting the magazine.
