On 18th June, 1959, Fr. John Leoncini just arrived in India was appointed the Rector of the Seminary. Since then he guided many seminarians to the vocation to priesthood. It is he Fr. Leoncini that gave concrete shape to the farsightyed vision of Hishop Battista of recruiting and training local vocations Fr. Joseph Mootedam, Fr. Nicholas Frascogna, Fr.Mario Arosio were the past Rectors of the Seminary. The local vocations were very scarce and so till 1965 the candidates were recruited from Kerala mostly from Palai, Kothamangalm, Changanacherry and Kottyam dioceses. The Apostolic school was the long cherished dream of Bishop Battista and so an Apostolic school was opened in July 1965. The Seminary gave to the church of Andhra 3 Bishops, Bishop Marampudi Joji, Bishop Gorantla Johannes and Bishop Paul Mypan. Bishop Mathew Cheriankunnel was a staff member of this Seminary from 1957-59. Now that from 1994 the Initiation Course was transferred to the new Angel Seminary built by Fr.
